Vibratory-based INstallation: Extended data collection for XXL monopiles

Publieke samenvatting / Public summary

Doelstelling
This project aims to deepen knowledge of vibratory-based monopile installation methods in the aspects of driveability, noise emissions, lateral bearing capacity and decommissioning. In addition, the tests will give insight into the effects of pile wall thickness on the above factors and support certification activities by providing a greater amount of data (and therefore reliability) for lateral bearing capacity models.

Korte omschrijving
To reach these aims the project will execute field tests where scaled monopiles will be installed, laterally loaded and extracted. The field tests will be executed at the same site as the SIMOX project field tests, allowing the (re)use of materials and equipment which offers significant cost savings. During these activities data will be gathered from sensors on the installation tools, pile, soil and more, which will subsequently be processed and analysed. Conclusions will be reported for the aforementioned installation aspects and data will be delivered for model validation within the SIMOX project.
