Aanleiding
A breakthrough steel making technology is under development called HIsarna. This technology in combination with CCUS is a necessity to achieve more than 50% of CO2 reduction per tonne of steel produced.
Doelstelling
To evaluate the CCUS options for the HIsarna Process and understand its impact to the whole CCUS chain.
Korte omschrijving
The integration of the CO2 capture and CO2 utilization from the HIsarna off-gases is addressed from the five different content related work packages. An optimization and economic analysis will be performed for these packages with the aim of understanding how the integration of CCUS with HIsarna ironmaking process can be most successfully deployed.
Resultaat
Tata Steel will be able to decide on how to address parts of the HIsarna process and can be scaled up toward demonstration and full scale implementation. This will significantly reduce the technical and financial risks for the future development.
