Within this project TNO and We4Ce investigate the use of integrated sensors for monitoring of (refitted) blade-hub connections. The method was successfully used in the Windsense projects and now extended to blade segments with a repaired root bushing connection. The patented re-fit repair method developed by We4Ce offers a means to repair (prematurely) failing root bushings. The integrated sensors are added to enable continuous monitoring, assess the connection status, and predict the remaining useful life. The aim is to bring the technology to a higher TRL level and investigate if the method is suited for realistic blade segments with more complex loading.
