HT-ATES AVR Duiven
Feasibility study High Temperature-Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (HT-ATES) AVR DUIVEN
Publieke samenvatting / Public summary
Aanleiding
At two locations (Rozenburg and Duiven), AVR is supplying heat to local district heating networks. In order to optimize the mismatch between supply & demand of heat , AVR and TNO will investigate the feasibility of a large scale (~20MW), high temperature (>140OC) Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (HT-ATES).
Doelstelling
To develop an initial design including a set of boundary conditions for the integration of HT-ATES with an existing district heating system and heat source. There is no existing legal framework for HT-ATES. Therefore competent authorities are willing to support the realization of a large demo project to develop regulatory guidelines to pave the way for future projects.
Korte omschrijving
Depending on the outcomes, this feasibility study can lead to a detailed engineering & design study and permit application (process) in order to realize a large-scale energy storage demonstration project to be integrated in the existing district heating system in the Arnhem region.
