Doelstelling
This project is to support the ROAD project by providing the knowledge and information that is expected to be needed for adapting the Q16-Maas production plan (“winningsplan”). The production plan is to be adapted for the earlier production of gas and liquid hydrocarbons as a result of the CO2 injection. The environmental permit based on the Wet Algemene Bepalingen Omgevingsrecht (Wabo) must be amended to cover the injection of CO2.
If - in future - a storage licence for CO2 will be applied for, the required information will concern the monitoring of the behaviour of CO2 in the reservoir. Therefore, the main objective of the project is to develop a monitoring concept including a list of monitoring techniques, their merit and cost related to the Q16-Maas field.

Korte omschrijving
Intermediate objectives are:
• To establish the relation between reservoir behaviour and injection pressure, temperature and CO2 behaviour (WP1).
• To derive safe injection and reservoir pressure regimes that will not affect the sealing potential of the cap rock and fault rocks, and will not destabilize faults (WP2).
• To assess the actual state of well barriers and their performances during storage operations, including the determination of safe injection and reservoir pressure regimes that will not affect wellbore sealing integrity (WP3).
The Monitoring concept (developed in WP4) will be used by the industry partners as a starting point for discussion with the competent authorities about the development of the storage project.
